Green newbies targeted by energy-saving pack

A new energy-saving gift pack hopes to give budding green homeowners a helping hand.

Introduced by new ecotailer ECOutlet, the package includes the old skool Savaplug (cuts electricity used by your fridge-freezer), an Eco Kettle (avoids boiling too much water), an IntelliPanel (turns off PC peripherals for you) plus three energy-saving light bulbs. It all comes to £100, saving you a fiver on buying the items separately.

Elsewhere on the site are a couple of nice green gadgets for cyclists, including the high visibility, battery-free Pedalites and magnet-powered bike lights, Goodbye Batteries.

One of ECOutlet's innovative touches is to offer 'eco points' on all its products - 20 on its Energy Saving Pack, say, and 2 on this cool recycled fire hose bag. Every time our cumulative shopping tots up to 100 points, ECOutlet promises to give £2.50 to a UK green charity.
