Go full circle and offset your book with Eco-Libris

You might have read yesterday about lastminute’s paperless phrase books, but what about books you read for pleasure?

Reading as we know it is here to stay but you can offset your books with new company Eco-Libris. You pay to offset a minimum of five books and you’ll receive a (recycled) sticker to place on the cover, confirming that you have replaced what has been removed from the forest to make your book.

Raz Godelnik, the company's founder has said that he hopes to balance out half a million books by 2008.

Three charities will do the actual offsetting on your behalf. They are Sustainable Harvest International, which helps farmers in Central America reverse rainforest destruction, Ripple Africa, which facilitates tree planting and other projects in Malawi and Alliance for International Reforestation, which provides environmental teaching and enables projects in Guatemala and Nicaragua.
