Miele launches consumer guide to WEEE

You’ve probably heard the term WEEE and you might know it has something to do with electrical stuff but not much more than that.

Miele has launched a consumer guide, ‘What does WEEE mean to me?’ to explain the recent legislation regarding the safe disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment - or WEEE.

The legislation was brought in to counteract Europe’s fastest growing ‘waste mountain’ - last year over two million tonnes of electrical and electronic items were dumped in landfill.

As well as explaining what it is, Miele’s guide explains new symbols, explains when it’s your responsibility to dispose of goods - and when it’s the retailer, how exactly that will work etcetera.

The regulations will come into force in August this year.
