Organic breakfast: A good place to start
Since we were kids we have been told breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
With a huge variety of organic cereals, breads and dairy products now on the market, it might also be one of the easiest meals to make organic.
As part of the Soil Association’s organic breakfast campaign, ‘Wake up to an organic breakfast’, Rachel’s Organic Dairy commissioned a YouGov survey to check out what Britons have for breakfast.
The survey reveals that 1 in 8 skip the morning meal, but 58 per cent of those who do breakfast eat or drink organic produce ‘all or some of the time’. Especially organic cereals and dairy products seem to be popular.
Steve Clarke from Rachel’s Organic comments on the findings saying: ‘With 6 out of 10 opting for organic on their breakfast menu, it’s very good news for the organic movement in the UK.’
The breakfast breakdown of the 2049 questioned showed that 67 per cent have cereals in the morning, 62 per cent toast, 34 per cent eat fruit, 32 per cent have eggs and 23 per cent eat yoghurt.
And, for your interest, 88 per cent of Britons who eat breakfast do it at home and 11 per cent of men do it standing up, so to speak.
