THTC launches essential collection with essential ethics
THTC (The Hemp Trading Company) is launching its new collection of urban eco wear. The collection provides the first full range of ethical essentials for men and women.
Expanding on its original range of t-shirts and hooded-tops, the broad range of clothes and accessories, including tracksuits and caps, is accredited by SEE Companies for its incorporation of social, environmental and ethical issues from crop to shop.
The main crop is, of course, hemp plant. Fifty-five per cent of every garment comes from the sustainable material, blended with 45 per cent organic cotton. The only exception is the ladies’ polo and t-shirts, where 70 per cent bamboo is used instead. Using 55 per cent hemp in a t-shirt instead of 100 per cent conventionally grown cotton can save up to 2,500 litres of water.
THTC works with DJs, MCs and graffiti artists from around the globe and has produced alongside some of the urban music scene's biggest names, including Morcheeba, Goldie, De La Soul, Wu Tang Clan, Benjamin Zephaniah, and Asian Dub Foundation.
This range will be launched by THTC online and selected like-minded retailers this week.
